Optimism & Sweet Rides Reign Up North: Coastline Cycles Begins Year 4 on April 2nd
Coastline Cycles and their growing legion of bike-loving clients have one passion in common: “sweet rides” to enjoy the timeless beauty of northern Michigan and the popular stretch of M-22, once proclaimed as the Number One Best Scenic Drive by USA Today. Coastline Cycles, owned and managed by the wife and husband team of Meg Doby and Ethan Przekaza, are marking 2025 as their fourth year serving those seeking one of the premier biking destinations on the planet.

“We’re feeling established and like we know what to expect,” says Doby who brings experience in customer service and business finance to the team. “We enter our fourth year with both popular stand-by brands and new products, an all-new fleet of bike rentals along with service and repair dedicated to keeping bikers on the road.”
As a new Giant Bicycles dealer, Doby said their options are bigger than ever with mountain bikes, cross and gravel bikes, electric and kids’ bikes. Aventon Ebikes – a hit in 2024 – and the line of Cannondale bicycles are popular everywhere and now make up their entire rental fleet.
“Our next project will likely be to develop more room, both outside and inside,” Doby said.

“The beauty and rolling terrain of Benzie County and surrounding region are idyllic for bikers,” said Przekaza. “The 12-mile Betsie Valley Trail, in the backyard of Coastline Cycles, is a destination for bikers of all levels. The Trail passes along Frankfort, Elberta, Beulah and Thompsonville and along Crystal Lake, marshland, and rolling hills. It really is breathtaking.”
A joint effort of Friends of the Betsie Valley Trail, Benzie County and the Michigan Department of Natural Resources, the Trail is built on the bed of the former Ann Arbor Railroad that carried freight and passengers from Toledo, Ann Arbor, Owosso, Cadillac, Thompsonville and Beulah to Frankfort and Elberta. From 1892 to 1982, freight cars were carried across Lake Michigan on car ferries to Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula.
“Coastline Cycles, Meg and Ethan have been important members of the Venture North family of clients,” said Laura Galbraith, President of Venture North Funding and Development. “We’ve been proud to help them with capital and consulting. With their tireless work, exceptional products and customer service, the sky is the limit in one of the most phenomenal biking areas in the nation. It is truly a company in an area where Sweet Rides Reign! Visit the company in person or online in April and join us out on the trails.”
